| Well done Ian. Nice to see an old AEC 'Knocker' again after all these years. I was in 36 Amb' Sqn RCT, 10 Reg', Bielefeld, Germany in the 1960's. We had Fordson V8 Ambulances (later changed to LHD Landrovers), 9 Sqn had the 10 tonners and 27 Sqn had 3 ton Bedford RL's.
All your other shots are great too, I thouroughly enjoyed them, especialy some of the old Steamers.
One observation though, each of the enlargements take a lot of downloading; a page of thumbnails would be good to be able to browse through as an addition to the slideshow. In my experience, non-previewable slideshows don't get many visitors past the first half-dozen slides. Just a thought.
Thanks for posting your pics.
Robbo. |

| An excellent shot that could be better if it was straightened up. A slight rotation and crop is all thats required.
The moving water effect is brilliant. |

| I'll have you know that you are taking unsolicited photographs of my mother!!
Just kidding in fact this is the first time I have seen a pic of the tram named after her as I never seem to come across it when I am up in Nottingham.
Not that it looks any different to any of the other trams but I could not help but be curious. |

Finally in stunning late summer evening light Tornado passes south bound through Woodthorpe on her final run of the day A1 60163 'Tornado' passenger debut Sunday 7th Sept 2008 at the GCR, Leicestershire |
|
|
|---|
| Ian,
Love this shot of the Tornado. Was this one recently restored? Not very familiar with British rail subjects, but the grey wheels, cab and tender really look nice!
I've been doing some slide shooting of rail here in Chester, Vermont now that the fall colors are here. With the tourist season in full stride, we have had six to eight movements going past my house on some days. That would be one tourist passenger job round trip to Rutland, Vermont, and two other shorter passenger runs round trip into Chester from Bellows Falls. The former has the Green Mountain RS-1 #405 and a few coaches, and the latter has Vermont Rail System GP-40 #307 and 6-7 coaches. In addition, one freight job runs each way.
I hope to join my brother for some autumn rail photography on the CSX line in the Berkshire Mtns of Massachusetts this coming week.
Keep up the good work!
Regards,
Tom Hildreth |
