On researching my 'natural' family I came across an ancestor of mine called Anna Seward who in the early part of the 1700 had shares in this canal, she lived in Litchfield about 40 minutes away from here in Derby. The canal is only 10 miutes walking time away from where i live and has endless photographic opportunites as well as being just a nice place to idle away some spare time every now and again.
